In the computer class, I learned about Microsoft Windows, Power Point, Hardware, Microsoft Word, and HTML. However, I think there are other useful programs on the computer, so I would like to know about these. Also, I would like to learn more about the Internet. For example, how we can trust the information in the web site. When I was a high school student, my English teacher told the class that when we write the essay and we need to use information from the Internet, we can only use the URL says ".edu" or ".org". I wonder why it only ".edu" or ".org", and still I do not know. In addition, I want to know about the mechanism of chatting because it might simple and do not have anything to explain, but for me, it is kind of mystery of the Internet.

What is the Viral Video?

Viral Video means video clips that people can see through the Internet, e-mail, IM messages, and blogs. I think the most famous viral video is "You Tube". You Tube is a web site that everyone can see the video clips freely, and anyone can contribute the video clips. However, there is a problem of copyright. Because anyone can put any video clips, some evil people put TV drama programs, movies, and music promotion videos without permission. Obviously, that is a crime. However, many people put these kind of video clips, so it is hard to crack down on this problem. I think viral video is a very useful and interesting tool on the Internet, and when I have presentation and I put the video in it, it has great effect on my presentation, but it also have big problem of plagiarism.

Computer Gift!!

♪Sponge Bob square pants! They are evenhanded as they do not favor any one destination or application over another. The meaning of the network neutrality is changing, and in 2006, the definition of the network neutrality means those who run networks as opposed to the network itself, where net neutrality means is generally understood to mean that the service and providers of inter net such as KDDI and NTT do not discriminate against rivals or individuals when they charge fees or when they prioritize traffic. Net neutrality is a major problem as the U.S. considers new laws of telecommunication. In general, it is mainly supported by companies that provide services at the edge of the network, and is generally opposed by companies that manage the middle of the network.

Computer News

About one month passed since Microsoft Office released new Windows Software "Windows Vista". Now, there are many fake software of Windows Vista appear on the market. However, the Microsoft Office said, "it is difficult to sweep these fake software." The Office explain more about this problem an said, "making fake software is own responsibility. It is hard for the company to step in the personal space and search for it." The office had the same problem before, too. Now, the fake software can not find in the PC shops, but people buy through the inter net, and many people feel not guilty for that. First is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia, and you can find a lot of information in different languages. However, the negative point of Wikipedia is anybody can write about the topic, so the information might be wrong. Secondaly, Sparknotes is a good web site, especially for the students. This is a free online study guides, and you can find summary and analysis of many books. If you need to understand deeply about the story that you are studying or having difficulty, you can go this site. When I was a high school student, I used this site a lot and it was very useful. Lastly, CNN is an online news site, and it is helpful when you want to know what is happening in the world or U.S. now, and when you want to find news articles.

What is Social Engineering?

The word of social engineering is used especially by hackers, and it means fraud. It is also called social racking or social hacking. Obviously, it is one of the crimes. These hackers get innocent users' passwords and information of the users through the Internet. When they steal the information of the users, they pretend that they are nice people or they make imaginary company and tell the users that the company is safety. When they do this, they use psychological tricks so that they can impose people’s mind easily. Also, some of them memorize someone’s password. Email is great target, too because there are a lot of ways to do bad things. Therefore, we should not completely trust in computer, and remind that there are disadvantage things, not only advantage things on computer.

What do you know about the Mac (Apple computers)?

Before I read the class notes on the web page about the Mac, I did not know about it at all. Also, there are only few friends who have the Mac around me. One thing that I knew was the company of the Mac sells the iPod. However, after reading, I felt the Mac is better than Windows. On the class notes, it says Windows can get virus easily, and I agree with it. Now, I have anti virus software in my computer, but before I have spoiled a computer by infection of virus. Also, the anti virus software cost about 5,000 yen. On the other hand, in the reading says that the Mac computers do not have virus, and do not have to buy anti virus software! Both the Mac and Windows have many other good features, but I think security is the best feature to decide buying a computer. Therefore, I will consider about buying the Mac computer, when I buy a computer next time.

What you want to learn about computers?

Learning about compute is important to me as a university student. At the university, we use computers a lot such as writing essays, doing presentations, and researching. Also, computers are very useful tools in my life. Therefore, in this class, especially, I want to learn about Microsoft Word, Power Points, and Internet. First of all, university students have to write a lot of essays for each class, and most of them have to be typed, so I think knowing how to use Microsoft Word has advantages for the students. Secondly, university students have to do presentations many times in the school life. When we do presentation, Power Point makes it more effectively because it can show pictures and graphs to the audience. If I can use Power Point very well, it will affect my grade in a good way, so it is good to know how to use it. Moreover, knowing about Internet is very important because these days, we can do many things on Internet such as selling products, buying products, researching, and communicating with people. However, there are not only positive things on Internet, so I think I should learn deeply, and both sides of positive and negative, so that I can use Internet more convenient ways.
